— THE CREED OF THE SERIES

Roger E. Pedersen is the visionary author behind the Sci-Fi, dystopian SuperPower book series — a unique blend of high-stakes drama, immersive world-building, and interactive gameplay. His work stands out for embedding three optional games in each book, where readers identify referenced films, books, or music, influencing plot outcomes and unlocking hidden chapters.

EARLY LIFE AND CAREER

Pedersen's writing journey began after facing life-altering hardships — losing his job, home, and car, and enduring homelessness in a New York City shelter. Despite these setbacks, he channeled his resilience into research and storytelling, inspired by the question: "If you had one SuperPower, would you choose to fly or become invisible?" This led to the creation of SuperPower: The Ability to Fly or to Become Invisible: The Deal of the Art (Book #1).

Before becoming a full-time author, Pedersen was a top computer game designer and developer in the 1990s, leading multidisciplinary teams to innovate gameplay systems and narrative branching for award-winning titles. He holds an advanced degree in Computer Science Software Production, which underpins both his narrative design and interactive mechanics.

WRITING STYLE AND THEMES

Pedersen's approach to storytelling is distinctive — he often writes the first and last chapters of a book, linking them with dynamic, standalone vignettes akin to TV episodes. His narratives explore art, humanity, and resilience, with themes of ethical dilemmas, personal transformation, and the value of art as a timeless investment. He is known for meticulous research, from measuring distances in museums to studying Michelin-star menus, to ground his dystopian sci-fi universe in reality.

ACHIEVEMENTS AND INTERESTS

Pedersen has been recognized with honors such as "Who's Who in Computer Science" and "Who's Who in America". He is also a US Chess Life Candidate Master, competing nationally and applying his strategic mindset to both chess and storytelling. Outside of writing and gaming, he enjoys cruising on Carnival ships, visiting theme parks, and watching blockbuster movies.

VISION

With a background in technology and a passion for imaginative literature, Pedersen continues to push the boundaries of interactive fiction, aiming to shape the next generation of sci-fi and dystopian narratives where readers' choices truly matter.

In short, Roger E. Pedersen's biography is one of perseverance, creativity, and innovation — blending the worlds of game design and literature to create a genre-defining series.
